We have been a husband and wife team since first partnering on the Hubbard House in 1996.  We have found the unique talents we each bring to our practice aid in our ability to communicate and interpret our clients' goals.  We are fortunate to have five employees who have broadened our creativity and made our delivery more efficient.

Russell Campaigne, AIA, LEED AP Homes, Principal : Russell has over 30 years of experience in sustainable architectural design and building science. After founding CKA with Mary Jo in 2000, the firm went on to win the AIA CT Emerging Architects award, CT Zero Energy Challenge, and holds the distinction of designing Connecticut’s first LEED Gold Home. Russell’s expertise lies in seamlessly integrating innovative sustainable construction techniques into vernacular designs, marking him as a leader in sustainable design.

Mary Jo Kestner, AIA, Principal : Mary Jo is a graduate of RPI School of Architecture and a founding partner at CK Architects Since moving to Guilford, CT she has developed a reputation for excellence in sustainable design, renovation and adaptive reuse. Mary Jo has been actively supporting community initiatives and serves as a Corporator for Guilford Savings Bank, The Guilford Foundation, and on the Guilford Affordable Housing Committee

Joshua Grochowski, AIA, Architect : Josh has been a vital part of the CK Architects team for two decades. A graduate from the Virginia Tech School of Architecture, he is dedicated to integrating data backed building science solutions to provide healthy and energy efficient spaces.

Scott Allen, AIA, Architect : Scott is a licensed architect with 20 years of professional experience ranging from large University projects to single-family homes across the country. He received his Master’s degree in Architecture from Rice University in Houston TX, and has worked with CK since 2020. Scott has a particular interest in leveraging BIM computer modeling within his work.

Meaghan Hartney Lisieski, AIA, Architect : Meaghan received her Master’s of Architecture degree from Tulane University and has over 15 years of professional experience. She specializes in the development of interior architectural details and the selection of materials, fixtures and finishes. With an interest in graphic design, Meaghan enjoys preparing architectural presentations that creatively and clearly express design concepts and ideas.

Laura Taglianetti, AIA LEED AP, Architect : Laura pursued her Master’s degree in Architecture from Norwich University. Her thesis, “How can architecture rejuvenate an adult’s ability to wonder?” was inspired by her desire for adventure and nature in a fast-paced, technology driven world. A registered architect with 19 years of experience in various project types & sizes, Laura is passionate about creating an effective project collaboration process that ensures success.

Sarah Johnson, Designer : Sarah is a recent graduate of UPENN’s Master of Architecture program, with several years of professional experience in residential and institutional design. She has honed her skills in creating spaces that blend functionality with aesthetic appeal, keeping sustainable design principles and innovative solutions as a driving force for her work.
